Vitamin of the Week: Kim Prado (Richmond)

Vitamin of the Week:...
Kim Prado
@kimgunstprado

A Richmond native with a love for all things creative and an extensive background in digital media and advertising sales, Kim has her finger on the pulse of the RVA market, business networks, and the unique needs of advertising agencies.

If you’re looking to connect with some of the BEST creative and digital marketing talent in town, be sure to give our amazing director of business development a call!

Of course, after reading her answers to our 7 Quick Questions...

  1. What made you want to work at Vitamin T? It’s a people business that drives results in a very rewarding and tangible way. Having previously worked in advertising sales, this was something I rarely got to experience; the service and product itself was tangible, but rarely was the outcome. This is what I love most about coming to work every day. We help connect our talent with opportunities to pursue the work they love while providing our clients with their most valuable asset. That’s pretty cool, if you ask me.
  2. As a 5-year-old, what did you want to be when you grew up? Oh, this I remember quite well. I wanted to be singing psychiatrist – which when you think about it, makes a lot of sense. I still think I was onto something. I mean, how could a singing psychiatrist not make people happy? While this is not currently the profession I practice, I’d still like to think I make people pretty happy.
  3. Best creative/digital event in your city? The Richmond Ad Club’s annual Richmond Show is a one-of-a-kind event that attracts the area’s greatest creative talent by honoring exceptional work that has been produced over the past year.
  4. What’s your favorite interview question? “Tell me about a time you failed. How did you handle it?” Personally, I think people learn a lot more from their failures than their success. Hearing how people handle tough situations tells you a lot about how they operate under pressure.
  5. What’s the BEST thing someone can do when looking for a job? Seek out the companies where you most want to work and don’t limit yourself to only those with open positions. Create your own opportunity to show them how you can add value. Nine times out of ten, that sort of initiative is going to impress a future employer far more than a resume ever could.
  6. What tech innovation has most impacted your life? The iPhone. This little device has changed the way I live my life by enabling me to do so many things simultaneously. That’s not always a good thing, but I love that it puts the information I need right at my fingertips and helps me with everything from directions on how to get from point A to B (which I desperately need) to capturing memorable moments at just the right second.
  7. Favorite GIF? Okay, so it’s not GIF – but it is my favorite ecard and particularly relevant to our line of work. It just makes me smile every time I read it!
